External Home Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday announced that she will not be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
While addressing a meeting in Indore, Swaraj made an announcement where she said she has made up her mind not to contest in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, citing her health condition for the decision.
She has been elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
In 2016, Sushma Swaraj underwent a kidney transplant, Swaraj referred to her health reasons for not contesting the upcoming elections.
