Eight persons arrested by the Assam police in suspicion of maintaining links with terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen have been handed over to the National Investigation Agency after being produced before a NIA court today.
The eight linkmen of the Pakistani terrorist organization were arrested after police launched a crackdown following Qamer-uz-Zaman’s arrest in Kanpur.

It may be mentioned that these persons were arrested after preliminary investigations revealed that they had maintained close links with Hizbul terrorist Qamer-uz-Zaman, who hails from Jamunamukh in Hojai constituency.
The eight arrested accomplices of Qamer are- Saiful Islam who is the brother of Qamer-uz, Shah Nawaz Alam, Saidul Alam, Omar Farookh, Riyazuddin, Mohammed Joynal Ahmed, Badrul Islam and arms dealer Abimanyu Chauhan.
