Heavy gunfire has been reported on Friday from the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh in Manipur in the wee hours.

The gun battle reportedly broke out around 1:10 AM between two rival Kuki insurgent groups. The gun-battle took place for around 40 minutes.

It is suspected that rebels of the insurgent groups might have suffered injuries as blood stains were outside the office. However, any casualty in the fierce gun-battle is yet to be ascertained.

Around 300 empty bullet cartridges were recovered from the spot where the gunfight took place.

Moreover, one hand grenade and one 9mm pistol has been recovered from the incident spot.
