On the occasion of World Sight Day Sri Sankardeva Nethralaya organised a ‘Walkathon’ on Thursday to create public awareness about eyesight.
The walk was carried off by all the members of Sankardeva Nethralaya starting from the hospital premises to Baishista Chariali.
World sight day is a global event meant to draw attention on blindness and vision impairment and is observed annually on the 2nd Thursday of October every year.
It was originally initiated by the sight first Campaign of Lions Club international Foundation in 2000.
