A Joint Emergency Executive Meeting of the Manipur University Teachers Association and Manipur University Staff Association was held today with MUTA President I Tomba.

The meeting was mainly called in to take stock of today’s brutal police action against the students inside the University campus today.

However, the University community is still hopeful of an imminent solution to the current varsity impasse.

The MUSA and MUTA condemned the brutal police action against agitating students in the University campus.

Both the organisations further denounced the arrest of 13 students today and demanded unconditional and immediate release of the arrested students.

MUTA and MUSA also urged concerned authorities to work out an amicable solution to end the present imbroglio in the Manipur University at the earliest.
