A firing incident took place near the Indo-Bangladesh border at Assam’s Karimganj district.

The incident happened late Tuesday night after a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan opened fire at his colleague after getting into an argument.

Shiv Yogi Pandey opened fire at Ashok Kumar Khangariya in the incident which left Khangariya dead on the spot.

Pandey also shot at another jawan named A.R. Pal who was left injured on the spot. Pal is undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital.

Pandey is currently absconding with 40 rounds of bullets and two loaded magazines. The CRPF have launched a manhunt in the area to nab Pandey.
