Aizawl FC owner Robert Romawia Royte, who recently joined the opposition in Mizoram, the Mizo National Front, is in the news with three socio-political organisations once again raising the question as to how he could contribute Rs 30 lakh as 1/10th of his earning to a local church in 2010 when he was a State Government employee.

The 3 organisations, including the Society for Social Actions had filed an FIR against Robert earlier questioning the source of his funds, which was way higher than his known source of income.

The SOSA has racked up the issue again, now that Robert Romawia is likely to contest the forthcoming Mizoram elections and has forwarded a fresh complaint to Chief Minister Lalthanhawla.

Robert Romawia however said that he had contributed the said amount of rupees 30 lakh to the church, which was his income from consultancy work in Nagaland.

Robert said that it was good that the case has come up once again because that will provide him a chance to prove his innocence and help him in his political campaign.

Earlier, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla also hit out at Robert Romawia Royte, saying proceedings would be initiated against him regarding allegations of over Rs 200 crore graft while in government service.
