Starting its campaign with some key promises the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) promised the creation of three new districts if voted to power.

Addressing a gathering in Aizawl, MNF leader and former Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga said that when the MNF came to power in 1998 it implemented the Congress promise of creating 5 news districts, but the Congress did not reciprocate it wrested power in 2008 by creating 3 new districts as promised by the MNF.

Chanting the development mantra, the MNF said that if it comes to power it would also do justice to whatever development projects have been introduced by the Congress.
