Gauhati University is witnessing massive protest following the death of Himangshu Neog, a B.Tech 3rd semester student on Friday.
As alleged by students the university hospital has been running without any experienced doctors or proper equipment and the lack of proper medical facilities in the university had led to the death of the student.
Stormy scenes were witnessed within the Gauhati University campus. Irate students locked down the doors of the university health center.
Agitating students of the university has put the university hospital under lock and keys for seven days demanding that the infrastructure in the hospital be revived within these days.
The students are also demanded that stern action must be initiated against negligent authorities besides appointment of a Medical Officer.
