In another setback for controversial Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, the Manipur High Court has rejected the plea to allow him to discharge his duties as per the mandate of Manipur University Act 2005 and to stay the memorandum of agreement signed between the Union HRD Ministry, state government and the Manipur University community on August 16.

The plea was rejected by a division bench of the High Court comprising of Justice N. Kotiswar and Justice Nobin.
