Chief Justice of India-designate Ranjan Gogoi has gone all praises for his outgoing predecessor Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.
Gogoi said that that CJI Misra’s greatest contribution has been to civil liberties. Justice Gogoi also called CJI Misra as a remarkable judge.
The CJI designate made these remarks during the farewell function for the outgoing Chief Justice of India held yesterday.
CJI Dipak Misra is retiring on Tuesday, while Justice Ranjan Gogoi is set to take over as India’s next Chief Justice tomorrow on Wednesday.
Gogoi will become the first ever Chief Justice of the country who hails from Assam and the Northeastern region.
