As per sources, two persons have been picked up from AMSU including the president Manjit Sarangthen, while three others belonged to DESAM, including the arrest of vice-president.

Reportedly, the police are also on the lookout for members from the other students organisations that have jointly called for the 48 hour long general strike.

A total of six student organisations have called for a 48 hour long general strike throughout the state from Wednesday midnight in protest against the recent police crackdown at the Manipur University campus resulting in the detaining of several students and faculty members.
