Internet services have been restored in Manipur after a gap of five days.

Internet services were made available throughout the state in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after it was suspended on September 21.

The move to snap internet services in the state came in after police and security forces conducted raids in the Manipur University campus and detained several students and faculty members.

Reports state that the move was done in a bid to block the circulation of misleading and inflammatory messages and propaganda on the social media.

Meanwhile, in a latest move, the Manipur High Court has directed the state government not to further internet services in the state under any pretext.
