The inauguration of Sikkim’s Pakyong airport has been rescheduled to September 24 from September 23.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Modi will arrive Gangtok on Sunday evening.

The inaugural function will be held at the at St Xavier School ground, wherein PM Modi would address the public.

Union Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu and Chief Minister Pawan Chamling will also be present during the function.

As a matter of fact, the new airport is located at a height of 4500 ft amidst the lofty Himalaya.

It will also be Northeast’s first Greenfield airport and the country’s 100th functional airport.
