In another case of mob violence in Assam, two youths from Guwahati had to face mob anger at a village in Mangaldoi district.
The incident which happened on September 18 saw two youths from Guwahati’s Hatigaon locality travel to the Moholiyapara village where they were roughed up by locals on suspicions of being goat thieves.
They were tied to a rope and dragged through a rice field during the mob assault on them. Even the driver who was driving the car they were travelling in was not spared, and he was also roughed up.
The two youths were finally rescued by the police before any untoward incident could take place.
