The Congress may soon receive another jolt in poll-bound Mizoram.

Hinting at quitting the party, former state health minister and Congress leader Lalrinliana Sailo said chances of Congress victory is bleak in the upcoming polls.

The Tuichang MLA said people of his constituency too aspired for district status and non-fulfillment of the demand may prove costly for the party.

He added that former Home Minister Lalzirliana’s exit was a big blow to the party.

Meanwhile, Mizoram Chief Minister and state Pradesh Congress Committee President Lal Thanhawla asserted that the Congress will comfortably retain power in the state.

Commenting on the recent internal conflict within the Congress, Lal Thanhawla said that there is no outside force that can destroy the party and as long as the party leaders stand firm nothing can harm the Congress.

Without taking names, Lal Thanhawla took a dig at former Home Minister R. Lalzirliana stating that he had received many invitations to join other parties and urged the Congress workers not to pay heed to invitations from other parties.
