The Congress Disciplinary Committee in the state has expelled Home Minister and state Congress vice president R Lalzirliana from the party.

Lalzirliana’s failure to reply to the show cause notice served to him by the Congress disciplinary committee has been cited as the reason for his expulsion.

Lalzirliana had already stepped down as the Home Minister of Mizoram last week after being served with a show cause notice to explain his position in the wake of reports that he was cozying up to the MNF.

Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla had also said that he would accept Lalzirliana ‘s resignation as Home Minister.
