The protest by employees of the 102 and 108 emergency services have entered the seventh day today.

Despite the administration swinging into action, the irate protesters staged vehement protests in Guwahati’s Lokhra area today.

The agitators warned off intensifying their agitation if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest. The protesters are demanding an increment in their salaries.

The protesters further alleged that they are being forced to work for 12 hours instead of the mandatory eight hours which is in violation of labour laws.
