A fresh circular issued by the Manipur University with the approval of the Chancellor of the varsity has sent embattled Prof AP Pandey on an extended leave with effect from September 1.
The order issued by the Manipur University states that Prof Pandey will be on leave till the completion of the probe against him by the 2-member independent fact finding committee and the subsequent follow up action thereby.
The fact that Prof Pandey has been sent on an extended leave with effect from the 1st of September implies that orders passed by him during this period including the decision to ban the Manipur University Teachers Association and the Manipur University Staffs Association may stand null and void.
As per the notification Prof Pandey will be on leave till the probe proceedings against him and the subsequent follow up action is complete.
