Two drug peddlers arrested in Tripura, 200 kg marijuana seized

Two drug peddlers were arrested by police in Tripura’s West District.
The police conducted searches on the bypass road when a mini truck tried to evade the search while passing by in high speed.
After chasing the vehicle, the police succeeded in confiscating it after it lost control and fell to the roadside.
Later the two drug peddlers called up the police and asked them to release the drugs in the mini truck in exchange for bribe.
The police set a trap for them and this resulted in them getting arrested along with one lakh rupees that they had brought in for giving bribe.
The operation was conducted under SDPO Ajay Kumar Singh of the Srinagar police station.
The two arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Ratan Debnath and Pooni Rami Debbarma. A total of about 200 kg of marijuana was seized.
