Coming off fresh on the heels of his victory at the South Tura by-polls, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday informed that he would resign from the MP seat next week.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the MDA alliance meet to felicitate the winners of the by poll, Conrad also informed that during his visit to the national capital, he will resign as the Tura MP besides meeting some Union Ministers to discuss important issues of the state.

Sangma said that the win has motivated him more and the government will continue with their programme and policies to take the state forward.

The Meghalaya Chief Minister also expressed happiness that the MDA partner UDP won the Ranikor elections and it is a well balanced coalition and also added that stability will be an important factor for the alliance.
