Crucial by-polls to the constituencies of Ranikor and South Tura passes of peacefully in Meghalaya.
A high voters’ turnout was registered in the bypolls to both constituencies of South Tura and Ranikor.
Ranikor registered over 80 percent voters’ turnout and over 72 percent of South Tura’s electorates had exercised their franchise till 5pm.

While in South Tura Chief Minister and NPP national president Conrad Sangma is fighting a crucial poll battle to remain as the head of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government in Meghalaya, five time legislator Martin M Danggo is seeking a re-election from Ranikor.
Huge turnouts in both constituencies imply that people have big expectations from the polls. All eyes will now be on result day on August 27th when the fates of the candidates will be sealed.
