Earlier in the day, 16-year-old Asian Games debutant Saurabh Chaudhary made India proud by winning the first shooting gold of the 2018 Asian Games while compatriot Abhishek Verma won bronze in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event in Jakarta.

Chaudhary shot a Games record of 240.7 to clinch the top honours while Verma finished with 219.3.

Ace shooter Sanjeev Rajput clinched a silver medal after letting slip early domination in the men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions event.

The 37-year-old shot 452.7 to claim the silver medal, while China’s Hui Zicheng notched up the gold medal with a score of 453.3.

India today clinched a maiden Asian Games medal in Sepaktakraw despite its men’s regu team losing to defending champions Thailand.

The Indian team picked up a bronze as both the losing semifinalists are also awarded a medal.

On the other hand, Divya Kakran became the second Indian women’s wrestler to win a medal at the Asian Games 2018. The star athlete defeated Chinese Taipei’s Chen Wenling 10-0.
