College students of Nagaland continue to abstain from attending classes as the State Government has not yet addressed their three-point charter of demands of rampant encroachment of college land that was submitted to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday.
The All Nagaland College Students’ Union cautioned that any college student defying the call would be dealt with serious consequences as the volunteers would be monitoring the institutions.
The union held a peaceful demonstration in Kohima on Friday seeking the Chief Minister’s immediate intervention in addressing their demands.
The ANCSU urged him to resolve the land encroachment issue of Kohima Science College and said it will not allow any encroachment of any college land.
The Union also demanded proper demarcation of boundaries of all government colleges in the State with concrete walls. They further demanded permanent settlement of their scholarship issue and setting up of separate cells or nodal departments for the same.
