Heavy landslides at Lalmati near Kohima has resulted in hundreds of vehicles getting stranded on the road for days now.

Due to the landslides, links between Kohima and Manipur have been snapped. Trucks carrying foodstuff and essential commodities have been stranded on the highway since July 13.

While the government is making efforts to clear the roads, it has still not been successful with bad weather triggering landslides plaguing the region.

The situation has now leading to a crunch in food and essential commodities in both Nagaland and Manipur.
