In the wake of the influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Assam into Nagaland following the publication of final draft of the NRC, former Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang appealed to the people of Nagaland to be vigilant, especially those residing in villages bordering the state of Assam.
In a recent Facebook post, Zeliang called upon all political parties irrespective of party affiliations, NGOs, Tribal Hohos, Student Organizations and Village Councils including individuals to come out in unison against influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants into the State.
He further directed the state government to device sustainable mechanisms by bringing an ordinance in the Assembly for regulation of a permanent system in the State.
