The Supreme Court has directed the CBI Director to be personally present on July 30 when the alleged Manipur extra judicial killings case comes up for hearing next.

The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Madan Bhimrao Lokur expressed its dissatisfaction with CBI’s pace of investigation in the case today.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation or the CBI has yet again failed to file the final report of the four cases before the Supreme Court that they top investigating agency claimed to have completed investigations into.

The CBI counsel has sought another four weeks’ time to file the Final report. The counsel assured the Court that by the end of August, the CBI will be able to file reports of seven cases.
