SSA teachers, workers slam Mizoram govt over non payment of salaries

Teachers and workers enrolled under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan in Mizoram have not received their salaries for months.
The salaries of the SSA and RMSA employees have remained pending for almost four months, clearly an indication that the government is playing with the future of these employees.
However, in a shocking revelation, the financial secretary of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan states that the irregular payment of salary has been continuing since 2015.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, the financial secretary of RMSA, Mr. Laldinpuia said that the employees are drawing their salary in a quarterly basis.
He blamed the state government for their lack of apathy as the salary has been already sanctioned by the centre.
Mr. Laldinpuia further said that the employees of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan should be treated with respect by the state government.
It is worth mentioning that the salary of the SSA, RMSA employees had been fixed since 2011 unlike their counterparts in the other northeastern states.
Moreover, their neighboring counterparts receive annual increment while they on the other hand, doesn’t even have proper pay structure.
