At least three houses came under gunfire and lethod bomb attack before dawn today leading to sensation in Moreh area. The incident occurred at midnight between 2-2.30 am.

The police who rushed to the spot said the attackers exploded six lethod bombs besides firing around hundred rounds at the three houses located at Gammon Veng village. There has been no reports of any casualties. Meanwhile, four vehicles have been damaged in the attack.

Police led by Tengnoupal SP, Dr. S Ibomacha, who reached the spot, later defused two live lethod bombs with the help of bomb experts near Houlemphai village. Paramilitary forces including the Assam Rifles have also reached the spot.
