Meghalaya police recovered a wide range of arms and ammunition in the villages of Bawegre and Dorengkigre after a search operation carried out by the police based on specific inputs

Meghalaya police recovered a wide range of arms and ammunition in the villages of Bawegre and Dorengkigre after a search operation carried out by the police based on specific inputs received from the local residents of these villages.

The seized arms and ammunition comprised of 4 pistols, 6 pistol magazines, 6 shotgun cartridges, 52 nos. of 7.65 m.m. pistol ends, 1 Chinese grenade, 57 nos. of 7.62 SLR rnds, 63 GNLA seals, 4 IED remotes, 1 Wakie talkie, 9 Remote IED circuits, 28 nos of electronic detonators, 7 bullet charger clips, 5 UBGL cells, 1 helmet, 2 SBBL shotgun, 485 AK 47 bullets, 104 rounds of .303 rifle, 2659 rounds of 7.7 m.m. rifle and 4 pieces of HMG stands.

A huge quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered with the help of local villagers as more people are coming forward to help the police in recovering these hidden weapons which pose serious threat to safety and security in the region.
