At least nine people were killed during massive landslides that occurred at three different locations in Manipur’s Tamenglong district early this morning.

Reportedly out of the 9 persons who lost their lives, most were children, Five children of a family were killed at New Salem in Tamenglong, while two other children were reportedly carried away by muddy water.

Further, a house was also swept away by the massive landslides killing a mother-son duo.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong Ravinder Singh stated that the district police and the district administration are in a war footing to recover the two missing bodies.
