The regional parties of Meghalaya are yet to come to a consensus in choosing a common candidate for Ranikor by polls.

A meeting was held in this regard at the residence of the UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh which was attended by representatives of various political parties from Ranikor.

Talking to North East Live PDF chief, PN Syiem said that the meeting has not decided yet on the candidate and will be doing so soon.

UDP, working President, Paul Lyngdoh said that after holding discussion at length they have decided to pass the onus on the top leaders to decide on the common candidate which will be made known in a few days time.

Meanwhile, names of UDP’s Pius Marwein and PDF Chief PN Syiem are doing the rounds as probable candidates for the by-polls.
