The Nagaland unit of the Janata Dal-United today staged a demonstration in the national capital demanding early and inclusive solution to the ongoing Naga peace talks.

JD-U’s Nagaland president Sen-Chumo NSN Lotha said the party demands the Centre to convene a special parliament session for early solution to the Naga peace talks.

Lotha added that the hopes and aspirations of the people of Nagaland have not been met as the Centre is yet to come up with a tangible solution.

Commenting on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Lotha said even though the JDU is an ally of the NDA government, the party is not in favour of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Lotha said the Nagaland unit will adhere to the decision of the National Executive Council of JDU, which has opposed the Bill.
