The tirade against adulterated food in Guwahati continues. Assam health and family welfare minister Pijush Hazarika conducted his latest raid in the Paltan Bazar area of the city.
Hazarika carried out the raid at a total of ten restaurants out of which three hotels namely Raja Restaurant, Kamakhya Hotel and Greenview Hotel were found to be in filthy condition and have been asked to close down immediately for three days till they are clean and in hygienic condition. The rest of the seven hotels have been given warning notice to clean up their restaurants.
During the raid, it was seen that some of the hotels did not even have food safety licenses. The minister gave warning to those hotels to get the Food Safety license immediately. He further said that if the hotels were found violating the Food Safety norms again, than those eateries will sealed permanent.
