The horror of mob lynching still continues to haunt Assam. A specially abled person was not spared by lynch mobs at Doipam in Darrang district.
Unidentified miscreants brutally assaulted Imrajul Haq suspecting him to be a child lifter. The incident occurred after miscreants raised an alarm that a child lifter is on a mission in the area after the victim was seen in the area. Subsequent to this hundreds of people turned up to the spot only to assault the innocent boy.
However, the police soon rescued the victim with student activists also intervening into the matter. Meanwhile, the incident comes at a time when the Assam Police is claiming that all efforts are on to prevent such incidents.
