With marginal improvement in the Barak valley flood scene, the scenario in the Brahmaputra valley continues to be grim.
Over 50 villages in Dhemaji district continue to reel under severe floods due to the rising water levels of Jiyadhal and Kumatiya rivers. Scores of people have been affected and forced to leave their homes to safety.
The situation in the region between Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji continues to be grim as floods have inundated several villages. The affected people are also facing hard time seeking relief from the authorities.
Floods caused by the Dimow river is also causing havoc in several villages of the Jonai constituency.
