The demand for justice for late Toko Yame, a young lad from Arunachal Pradesh who was brutally murdered in September last year in Tawang, seems to be growing louder.

A rally has been organised by members of the All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) and several others today, to put forward their demand for justice at Arunachal’s Indira Gandhi Park Tennis Court in Itanagar.

The protesters are demanding that the murder case be transferred to the CBI from the SIT so that speedy justice may be delivered. The protesters are also demanding that the police officers involved in the investigation of the case should be suspended.

It may be mentioned that Toko Yame was a 16 year old student whose decomposed body was recovered by a search team in September 2017 from the periphery of Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya in Tawang.

Even though the incident occurred nearly a year ago, the culprits have still not been brought to book.
