A day after Ranikor MLA Martin M Danggo quit the Congress and resigned as an MLA, state party spokesperson Zenith Sangma asserted that despite the development the Congress will retain the constituency which has always been its bastion.
Zenith Sangma also dismissed the remark of state NPP president WR Kharlukhi that more trouble is in the offing for the Congress in the state. The Congress, Sangma said, was ready to face any threat and will ensure at any cost that it retains Ranikor.
Taking potshot at former Congress MLA Martin M Danggo for deserting the party, Zenith Sangma said Danggo’s departure has done the party more good than harm. Zenith added that the Congress has its equation in place and has no reason to worry in the Ranikor by poll.
