While the flood scenario in Assam has taken a slight improvement in certain areas, the overall situation still remains grim.

Several villages at the Gogamukh circle in Dhemaji district are reeling under heavy floods for several days now. The rising water level of the Jiyadhil and Kumatiya rivers have raised alarm among the local people.

Several houses and properties have been submerged in the raging floods waters. Even the exams scheduled to held in the local schools have been indefinitely postponed until the flood scene improves.
