5-day long Ambubachi Mela begins today

The much awaited Ambubachi Mela is all set to begin from tonight. Devotees from across the nation have arrived in Guwahati ahead of the much celebrated annual Mela at Kamakhya

The much awaited Ambubachi Mela is all set to begin from tonight. Devotees from across the nation have arrived in Guwahati ahead of the much celebrated annual Mela at Kamakhya Temple.

The Mela, which was inaugurated by Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday evening, will be held from tonight till June 26.

For the five-day Ambubachi mela, the administration has made special arrangements for the devotees.

The Kamrup (metro) district administration has set up five camps for one lakh devotees, with the largest inside the old central jail complex at Fancy Bazar.
