The influential Nagaland Tribes Council has slammed the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy by NSCN-K and ULFA-Independent insurgents in Mon district of Nagaland on Sunday.
In a release issued moments earlier, the Nagaland Tribes Council said such incidents only threaten to harm the ongoing negotiation process whcih aims to find a solution to the vexed Naga political issue.
The NTC also said the NSCN-K should have a sense of respect towards the efforts of the fellow negotiators whose sole aim is to bring sustainable peace to Nagaland. The NTC added that the Nagas are tired of violence and want peace and progress.
