Peaceful protest held in Guwahati seeking justice for mob lynching victims; singer Zubeen Garg demands justice for victims

A silent protest programme was held at the Judges’ Field Guwahati yesterday demanding justice for the victims of mob lynching at Dokmoka in Karbi Anglong.

A sizeable number of people including singer Zubeen Garg gathered at the venue to demand justice for Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath. Zubeen Garg demanded the most stringent of punishments for the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, candle light marches in memory of the victims were also held at Diphu in Karbi Anglong. The candle light march was organised by Karbi student bodies and ASDC youth front.
