The crisis engulfing the Naga Peace Talks continues, with a fresh round of talks that was scheduled today between the seven member Naga Rebel Groups and the Centre has been cancelled following the suspension of talks by the NNPG.

The talks were suspended following the June 2 raid at the residence of Naga National Political Group Co-Convenor V Nagi by the Assam Rifles at Jotsoma Village near Kohima.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against the NNPG co-convenor V Nagi at the Zubza Police Station near Kohima.

Top NNPG sources told Northeast Live that authorities in Nagaland has issued a warrant of arrest against V Nagi following a complaint apparently lodged by the Assam Rifles.

While relatives of V Nagi accused the Assam rifles of harassment during the Raid, the paramilitary force denied charges that the rebel leader’s house was ransacked and its residents harassed.

The Assam Rifles, however, has made a sensational claim that a huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the house of NNPG co-convenor’s house that were stacked for war like situation.
