Former Meghalaya Home Minister RG Lyngdoh today said the government has failed miserably in tackling the current situation in the pine city.
Stating that the agitation has now moved beyond a mere scuffle, Lyngdoh said even though the curfew has been in place it was not being enforced properly allowing the protestors to break the rules.
He added that the issue of shifting the Harijan Colony from the area is not new but successive governments have ignored the issue.
With the passage of time it has become more difficult to shift the colony from the area now.
