Amidst speculations over the formation of a second front against the BJP led government in Assam; the Congress has clearly said that it is ready to go ahead with the Asom Gana Parishad and other like minded parties in this regard.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Ripun Bora categorically maintained that everything is possible in politics and urged the BJP’s coalition partners-both the AGP and the Bodoland people’s front to quit the alliance for the sake of the interest of the state while dubbing the BJP as a ‘communal’ force.

The Assam congress chief also said that even the Badruddin Ajmal led AIUDF must come forward and join hands with the Congress, AGP and the BPF. However, Ripun Bora maintained that the party would extend its support to the proposed ‘second front’ from outside and that the party will not intervene while deciding the chief ministerial candidate.
