The call for a speedy solution to the vexed Naga problem has been given by Tangkhul Naga organisations in Manipur’s Ukhrul district. The Tangkhul community took out a silent rally at Ukhrul’s district headquarters.
The rally was held by the Tangkhul Shano Long, Unite Naga Council and Tangkhul Naga Long under the aegis of the Tangkhul Naga Civil Societies. Most of the educational and business establishments in the town remained closed making it possible for a large number of people to take part in the rally.
The rally went through most important points of Ukhrul town and then finally a public meeting was held at Hunpung junction. A charter of six demands was also submitted to the Prime Minister through the deputy commissioner seeking a speedy addressal to the Naga issue.
