Just days after Kummanam Rajasekharan was sworn in as the new Governor of Mizoram, organisations like Global Council of Indian Christians and People’s Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram (PRISM), continue to object the appointment of the new governor.

PRISM alleged that Kummanam is ‘anti-secular’, and therefore should not be allowed in a ‘Christian state’ like Mizoram. PRISM President Vanlalruata further alleged that Rajasekharan is involved in anti-Christian activities and hence he should be ousted as the Governor of Mizoram.

The PRISM, in fact started an online petition campaign on Thursday against the newly appointed Governor with the slogan ‘Let’s Drive out Anti Secular Governor’. The online petition has already received over 100 signatures.

The PRISM has also planned to submit a petition to President Ram Nath Kovind to remove the Governor from his post.
