The man-elephant conflict in Assam has reached an alarming level, after two more persons were killed by herd of wild jumbos in different parts of the state in the wee hours.
The first death was reported from Pahartuli under the Rangjuli forest division in Assam’s Goalpara district after a wild jumbo strayed into human habitat and created ruckus in the area.
Frightened at this, one of the member of a family who was trying to escape was trampled to death by the jumbo. The deceased have been identified as Manoj Hajong.
