Acting on specific inputs, the Assam Police have busted an inter-state poaching racket and arrested four dreaded poachers.

Two poachers were arrested from Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh who were planning to kill rhino at the Kaziranga National Park. The poachers have been identified as Sanam Nagti and Indra Bahadur Thapa of Itanagar.

Meanwhile, the Golaghat police arrested two more poachers who were part of the same racket and have been identified as N. Thangboi of Manipur and Sarat Saikia of Jorhat district in Assam.

The police have also recovered a .303 rifle and 24 live cartridges buried in the backyard of Sarat Saikia’s house.
