Massive uproar in Tripura’s capital city after a girl allegedly committed suicide after being accused of theft by the officials of retail store Big Bazaar in Agartala.

Hundreds of IPFT youth and students wing activists took to the streets in a candlelight vigil demanding a CBI probe into the death of the Class 12 student.

Meanwhile, Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma and IPFT Chief NC Debbarma visited the deceased’s house and met her family members.

Laharni Debbarma, a student of Auxilium Girls’ School had committed suicide on May 25 after allegedly being accused of theft by the security guards and officials of Big Bazaar.

Reportedly, the deceased student, who had gone to shop with her friends, was accused of stealing items from the shopping mall by the guards after they spotted a bag in her hand.
